About us

Dalsgaard Data A/S

Dalsgaard Data was established as a personally owned company in 1998 by John Dalsgaard. The mission statement for the company was slightly different from today, namely exclusively "Delivery of services within Lotus Notes/Domino and related services".

Since then, the mission statement has been expanded to also include sparring for the customers' IT use and operations, as well as the development of mobile apps, which have some fantastic possibilities for redefining the way you run your business.

In 2001, Dalsgaard Data was transformed into a limited company, among other things, to signal solidity and seriousness in relation to the business environment.

In 2002, Dalsgaard Data A/S became a member of Notesnet.dk, which today forms an important part of the company's network of business partners. In his day-to-day life, John Dalsgaard is also involved in the "operation" of Notesnet.dk. From 2005 to 2012 he was chairman of the association.

Environment and sustainability

Normally, we don't really think about what we do every day for the environment and sustainability. However, a conversation with a customer that has been ISO 14001 certified led us to identify the things that already do:

  • Green energy: The property where our office is located gets almost all of its power from a small household wind turbine (depending on how windy it is, of course). Furthermore, all heat in the office is supplied by a geothermal system - the ideal combination with a wind turbine.
  • Minimal driving: For several years, we have tried to minimize driving to customers and instead we use distance work and online meetings to a large extent. It saves both time, energy and reduces CO2 emissions.
  • Recycling: We aim for extensive recycling of the materials we use. This includes recycling coffee capsules and printer cartridges, as well as cardboard via the recycling station. All other waste is also covered by a waste sorting scheme, which ensures correct disposal and/or further recycling.
  • Planting: Finally, a total of 1,500 trees and bushes were planted on the property in 2010, which also help collect CO2.

I take pride in doing a proper job, i.e. "good craftsmanship", and this typically means solutions that run stably and keep doing so.

When a customer asks for a task to be solved, there are no tasks that are too "boring" - after all, the customer needs them to be solved in order for their business to to be as competitive/efficient as possible.

I spend a lot of time and energy keeping up to date on new technologies and methodologies that are relevant to the types of work that we do for customers. Within the IT industry, it is a task that requires a lot of planning and effort.

Birgitte Dalsgaard

I worked fulltime at Dalsgaard Data from 2006 until 2014 with teaching/courses, social media and project management. I have held several courses on Social media for clients.

In 2014, I got an offer that I couldn't reject, and today I now hold a management position within projects and marketing in the education sector.

However, I am still involved in Dalsgaard Data, as I am chairman of our board and still somewhat involved in the day-to-day operations, so I know what is going on and can contribute with sparring.

My passion is creating videos. In recent years, I have created a number of videos for Dalsgaard Data's customers, both in Denmark and France.

I have been admitted to an eduction in Aarhus in the summer of 2022, so I will probably have to reduce the work in Dalsgaard Data a bit while I learn even more about making great films.

My passion is taking pictures. I studied theoretical physics and mathematics in London and now study astrophysics at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen.

I have taken photos for customers as well as several tasks internally at Dalsgaard Data with photo and web.

Right now I work a lot with Machine Learning in terms of my studies and another student job. We use this knowledge to assess the technology in relation to the solutions that Dalsgaard Data provides. So we are looking forward to seeing if concrete projects can come out of it.
